The Great Con of the Self-Help Industry

I think there’s a great con in the self help industry that’s been going on for way too long.

It’s the “you attract what you focus on” kind of thinking.

They say if you focus on abundance, you’ll attract abundance. Focus on poverty, you end up attracting that into your life.

Don’t get me wrong… I think there’s a lot to be said about having a positive mindset and all that.

However, let’s be clear about a few things…

  • A 20 minute “gratitude” ritual followed by an interpretative dance every day at 5am in the morning has a very slim chance of making more money appear in your bank account by the end of the day.
  • Listening to mp3’s that “tune your mind” to noticing more opportunities out there in the world might help… but so will just keeping an open mind.
  • Practicing gratitude for something you don’t have will NOT magically bring it into your life. If you’ve always felt this one doesn’t make sense… well, you’re spot on, it doesn’t.

Now all these are just a symptom of how toxic and predatory the whole self help industry has become.

There are endless stories online of people falling prey to this.

Broke people buying tickets to virtual workshops, audios, meditations, whatever... where someone (who is probably just as broke as they are) is going to tell them they need to talk to themselves in the mirror every morning. And so on.

And all of this just scratches the surface. But let’s not dwell on that.

Instead, let’s examine what it is we - you and I - can do about it.

First, let’s acknowledge that money and wealth are just two pieces of a bigger puzzle called prosperity.

What’s the difference between being wealthy and having prosperity?

Money and wealth are just mere components of prosperity.

True prosperity includes a lot of other things beyond just wealth. For example, true prosperity can include an abundance of time you’re able to spend with your loved ones. Or more time and resources you can spend on your health… improving the quality of your life further. As well as a lot of other things.

There are at least 62 important factors and it would take too much time to list them all here.

Now what governs your actions when it comes to each and every single one of these factors?

It’s your prosperity algorithm.

It’s the often subconscious sequence of actions that you take whenever you encounter a particular situation.

For example, a lot of procrastinators have an algorithm where when things get too hard, they reach for their phone and spend a couple of hours on social media. Or, to give you a positive example, your prosperity algorithm will also determine what you do when you’re presented with an opportunity - do you take it or do you tend to think about it forever until the opportunity goes away?

Algorithms can be cracked and you can tweak yours to your liking - so that it gives you the results you want.

Now, let’s go back to timing for a little bit.

One thing the right timing allows you to do is get in on opportunities early. And almost every single time, that allows you to get the best deal.

And right now, you’re in front of an opportunity just like that.

You see, in the training (link below) you’ll find out about 10 major factors of the prosperity algorithm.

The reason you’re getting this for free is that it is the creator’s hope that you’ll sign up for the full, intensive training they’ve created.

All of the details are on the web page above.

However, even if you don’t intend to join the full training, at least watch this one. Don’t let your current prosperity algorithm stop you from learning something new.
