The 16 Word Ad that Just CRUSHED Sales this Week

Ever seen those ads on your Facebook or Instagram feed that go on and on and on?

Not only have I seen my fair share, I’ve written many like them to promote various products.

These long-form ads are really helpful because they take the time to teach and explain concepts that are necessary for someone to make a purchase.

I’ll likely continue running ads like this as long as these platforms allow…

But from time to time it's great to test very simple, short & sweet ads that simply grab attention and get someone to sign up or make a purchase.

This week I tested an ad with only sixteen words and it beat all of my other campaigns out of the water.

Would you like to know what it is?

Let me share it first, then I’ll explain why it works:

“Hey! Looking to launch an online business but not sure where to begin? Check this out!”

Now, a couple of points about writing these super simple ads…

First, the magic is in the simplicity. You want your ad to be ultra clear as to who you’re speaking to (beginners) and what you’re providing for them (a path to launch an online business).

Second, there is NO clickbait in this ad. That’s a perfect recipe to either get your ad disapproved or worse, people simply won’t believe you. I would never write an ad this short with a crazy claim I couldn’t back up. Launching an online business is enough of a claim to get reader’s minds turning.

Third, I tested a LOT of short ads before arriving at this one. Don’t get discouraged if you write a short ad that doesn’t convert. I’ve written many of those! Instead, continue to test phrases that play with who you’re speaking to, and what you’re offering.

I’ll list a few examples below:

“Thinking about starting an online business with an Amazon FBA store? Here’s a better alternative!”

“Want to sell an online course? Here’s another option, sell someone else’s! Click below to see what I mean.”

“Small businesses are the backbone of the economy. Did you know that you can start one from your laptop? Learn my FAVORITE method here.”

Please note, these are just examples and tests...you can see how easy it is to test with different ideas as you switch your audience and the way you frame your offer.

So where do you use these tiny ads?

Well - I used them on Facebook but of course you can try LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter (they make great tweets!), Instagram, and even in Emails!

If you’ve been writing longer style ads go ahead and give these a shot to see if you can reach a brand new audience.

Have a great day and happy marketing!
