You’ve heard that honesty is the best policy, right?
And while I’m sure we all know that it’s important to provide disclaimers and never mislead potential customers when promoting affiliate products…
Did you know that more disclaimers can actually IMPROVE your sales?
In fact, copywriters for YEARS have discussed the powers of being brutally honest about what your products don't do in order to sell more.
Consider a legendary headline to sell a stock market subscription service.
I’ll present two headlines and I want you to guess which one was the winner:
Option A The Subscription that Can Make Anyone a Millionaire
Option B Give Me One Hour a Day and I Can Teach You to Trade the Market
Now, I probably made it obvious with the title of this newsletter which was the winner...
But isn’t it surprising that Option B completely destroyed Option A?
Why would telling someone they’ll be required to put in an hour of effort each and every day and learn the stock market beat the headline that implies you’re only one subscription away from becoming a millionaire?
Here’s the short answer…
People are smart! When offers like this arise they’re BS radars are on the alert.
Telling someone what is required of them allows them to set their expectations and evaluate if this is the right option.
Being honest about the need to learn funnels, email marketing, solo ads, and watching daily videos will help your subscribers understand what work is required to make their dreams come true.
Because here’s the best part. We all know there’s “no free lunch” and success requires hard work…
But by telling your subscribers what work is involved you’ll also be able to tell them how you’ll help them in the process.
Remember, this goes for any offer you’re promoting from PWA to Weight Loss Programs to Stock Market Subscriptions.
Honesty about the program opens the door to real, one-to-one conversations about how the products you’re promoting can be their #1 solution.
To Your Success!
